Having had the opportunity to do some shopping while in the US
this week, I can now confirm that the new 500mb and 1gig IBM
microdrives do indeed require less power, and therefore work quite
happily in the NEC MobilePro 770/800 (AKA EasyMate 770/800).

I have to admit though I am not quite sure what im going to do
with all this space. Im so used to having nearly nothing.
Ah well. Im sure ill cope.
