Im intending to build an install kernel some time in the not too
distant future myself, but if you are feeling impatient, there are a
couple of other ways to prepare the filesystem / install.
my current favourite is to boot my laptop with netbsd install floppies then
place the compact flash card to be installed in a pcmcia adapter (13 dollars in
best buy if your american, #9.99 in dixons if british) and chuck it into the
pcmcia slot of your laptop. Have the hpcmips packages on a dos partition and
you can do the entire installation this way.
