There's also, on at least the FreeStyle, the VoiceApp.exe trick.  Put
pbsdboot.exe on the compact flash.  When you turn on your machine, hit 
the voiceapp button.  Once you have a pbsdboot.ini file (eg after your 
first successful run), you can to this right when you get the
calibrate touchpad screen.  I think you then hit the action button a
couple of times and away you go (it is been a little while since I've
driven this from the buttons).
