netbsd-7 is broken

Hi

So I found my Jornada 720 and wanted to give NetBSD a spin on it but it is totally fubar.
I downloaded a netbsd-7 kernel and booted, everything looks good until init is started.
This message keeps scrolling on the screen (transcribed):
1.1(init): trap: signal 11 code=1 addr=0x2160 trap=0x2160
and a register dump. Most registers are zero except:
r1=c5, r5=c5, r6=3b, rB=bfffde28
ip=40030ac8, sp=bffdda8, lr=400257bc
pc=00002160, spsr=60000010

Anyone with a clue still on this list?
