I don't know why it is so but I can say with absolute certainty that
if you try booting NetBSD from CF on an IPAQ then any data you had
stored on the device will be gone when you go back to WinCE, the
machine behaves as though you gave it a master reset and forces you to
recalibrate the screen and so forth.  If you have data on the machine
you value, make sure it is backed up before playing with NetBSD!
