I have written a keymap for the hp jornada 720's german keyboard layout.
But there's one key that I cannot get to work via keycodes.
What is the easiest way to get keysyms -- without the use of
XFree86's xev?

And if you would like to have the keymap, how do you want it?
I mean, as keymap file that one can load using 

wsconsctl -w map+="`cat $keymap | xargs`"

or integreated into the appropriate kernel source file? So that
one can load it using

wsconsctl -w encoding=de
