I haven't opened the unit to find out, but it's a pretty good bet that
surface-mount rework would be needed in order to do this.  There simply
isn't room for a socketed DIP chip in the 720.

(Trust me, if it has flash, I'd seriously consider frobbing it -- even with
a custom-built WinCE image from Platform Builder.  There's some gross
omissions in HP's build that I'd like to fix.  8-)
