Is ther any program, which can calc the parameters, NetBSD Install needs?

The problem is:

I have an old HP -SCSI Hard Disc (It's an old Compaq Spare part, so it is 
not easy to get any information from HP)

It is working -> the Hard Disc gets recognized, but I can not partion it, 
because I don't have the exact Drive Parameters (there is no information on 
the Hard Disc:-()
Can anybody help me out? Perhaps a trick? Or a program for other machines 
(x86 PC preferred)
