I have checked my hp9000, and have no /dev/ppi0
I looked in makedev, and it is not in there
hp300# uname -a
NetBSD hp300 1.4 NetBSD 1.4 (GENERIC) #2: Fri May 7 21:37:43 PDT 1999

Woops, I meant /dev/lp
The device for ppi0 (printer/plotter)
MAKEDEV doesn't make it (at least mine doesn't) I looked but the printers
section is empty :(
but dmesg finds it :
dio0 at mainbus0: 98620C, 2 channels, 32 bit DMA
nhpib0 at dio0 scode 7 ipl 3: internal HP-IB
hpibbus0 at nhpib0
ppi0 at hpibbus0 slave 5 punit 0 <<
