In particular, I'd like confirmation on the following:
which direction to set the DIP (and which DIP) on the 98561-66530 (Human
Interface board) for serial console

does the 98562 (System Interface) really require a non-null serial cable
to run a serial console?  do any other serial interfaces require this?

could someone with a 345/375/380/385 double-check the instructions for
setting up serial console?  I only have a series 400 machine.
