I was attempting to compile DDD last night when I got a message from the
compiler stating "virtual memory exhausted".

I observed that the cc1plus program was taking up 19 MB of memory shortly
before it gave me the error message.

I would assume that this is because 20 MB is the per process limit on my
generic kernel. Is there an easy way (shell utility) to check what limits
are set in the kernel?
