Short answer: "You can't."  At least, not with the in-tree toolchain.
You would have to set up a "cross-build" environment.

If you want to be 100% compatible, you need to build the programs on
the 4k systems.  If you're building top(1), or other programs that
grovel kmem to get kernel data, you need to build them on the target
machine, anyhow.

To be honest, I'd really recommend making _all_ of them -current, but
I don't know the needs of your environment.
