The ESDI disks aren't proprietary and the controllers (at least the
SMS Omti) will work in a PC if you get the ROM's and they were available
at one point but I have no idea where to find that info now. The WD7000
controller probably isn't useful except as a NetBSD scsi card with the
"wds" driver but I haven't tested that recently.

I just wanted to clarify that.
