err, you need to use config.old(8) in NetBSD 1.2 ... however, I have
since converted the hp300 port to use new config (config(8) :-)
in NetBSD-current.

if you continue to have problems, could you shar up the config file
and files* files and mail them to thorpej@netbsd.org?
