For SCSI, this is fairly easy to deal with.  For HP-IB, it's a little 
harder.

If anyone out there has information on exactly _how_ mediainit(1m) 
formats HP-IB disks (i.e. does it do it "manually", does it issue an 
equivalent to SCSI's FORMAT UNIT, etc.), I could certainly act as a 
clearing house for the info, and help someone implement the Right Thing 
under NetBSD...
