Hi,

Please disregard this, posting if it is a duplicate. I made a posting on the
same subject last night and it has not appeared yet.

I run NetBSD 1.0 on an HP9000/300 machine with 4M RAM (to be upped) and 300MB
HD. I downloaded the formal release of the X11 software recently and was able
to get xdm working. It responds to XDMCP queries (direct and indirect) from
hosts on the network.

However, I could not get X to successfully XDMCP query other hosts (direct or
indirect) from the command line. I was able to get X to query the local xdm
process on the hp300 machine by including the line ':0 /usr/bin/X11/X' in the
Xservers file. When I appended '-query <hostname>' to the line, it did not
work. This happened when hostname was set to the local or any remote host. All
hosts had xdm running.

The error message that I got in the xdm-errors file was something like:

Fatal XDMCP error: address not found (something like this)

Which address does this refer to. I tried using an inexistent hostname after
the -query argument and I got a different error message 'host not found' so
this has nothing to do with the host address.

Thanks for your help.
