Does anyone know how to cut tapes for a hp9144 off a sun 630mp running 
solaris 2.4

I've tried tar xvf /dev/rmt/0l on the sun to write the info. Then When I stick 
the tape in the 9144 it gets a fault and won't allow me to get anything
off it. I'm using HP tapes preformatted for the 9144 (we have a whole box of
them). 

Any ideas or I do I need an HP to create the tapes.
