my 380 doesn't exhibit this though granted, I'm running -current as
of Jan 25th... My ppp link is hooked up to my dca (until I can get
a commserver) and I don't experience *any* hangs at all... 

Though, I don't run kermit or ttyflags...

(thought you had a commserver, why don't you just use *those serial ports? :-) )
