Maybe what we should be doing in parallel is trying to
nail down these problems? I know Izumi has been
working on this kind of thing when he can. 

I don't get hangs. I get reboots with no explanation.
It would probably be a good idea to log all these
builds and see if you get any compiler errors. I've
done this and I don't usually get anything. Again,
nothing in the syslog, no cores, just a reboot. 

Kind of makes it difficult! Maybe some research on the
linux side might produce results...
