it is being re-worked by Jason R Thorpe as he gets time.

The idea is that in mulit-user mode there are more processes running and
better chances for race conditions.  I think the reboots are a problem for
msaitoh's kernel and if you get a different kernel it should work out for you
a bit better.  I've got one w/NFS root and it is fix to work with 100mbps on
my site (www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~tbeede) if you what it.  Also can drop me an
email if it dosen't work or you need something else compiled in.
