Cool.. I haven't yet ordered the parts for mine to do that conversion.
 How does the speed increase look?

I managed to do something wierd to my test machine as well.. As I had
it out of its case and poking around, I managed to disturb something.
Now it no longer displays anything on console during poweron and
_immediately_ goes to booting the disk.
