I added the following to the GENERIC kernel config file for 3.0.1:

options SOSEND_NO_LOAN

recompiled, and it helped greatly with stability during network transfers :)

I believed Tsutsui-san has committed this as a default option in the
last couple of NetBSD releases (3.1 and 3.0.2?).
