Please ask on tech-pkg@NetBSD.org for package related questions.

You do not need to modify any pkgsrc Makefile.
Instead, install pkgsrc/archivers/php-zlib and pkgsrc/databases/php-mysql.
Be sure to follow the instruction printed to enable those PHP modules!
