Hi,
I whipped up a small script that prints on LCD panel when it is safe to 
power down. All interested can get it at 
http://restorecd.homeunix.org/NetBSD/ .

Just drop it in the rc.d directory and change permissions. It works on 
1.6.2 but 2.0 users will probably have to edit device name.

It is not a kernel patch but it works close enough so you dont get a fs 
corruption.
