Pete,

No moving parts is ok, but all Flash media have an inherent drawback: =
short lifecycle. They have a very limited number of write cycles before =
failures start piling up. In any UNIX environment with extensive =
logging/swapping it will fail very soon. The only reasonably practical =
application for it is a boot partition holder.
