No (ENOHARDWARE), but there's src/regress that may be a good starting
point for testing.

support for "pretty much everything" is what should be in GENERIC.
If that's not the case, it should be fixed.

As for application-specific kernels, I don't think we ship them anywhere.
Of course things like install-kernel or so for the rescue/restore CD would
be a different thing (and probably makes a lot of sense).
