Hi,

After reading about the recovery cd posting, I thought it high time to
take the plunge and upgrade the crusty old 2.0 linux kernel on my 2700wg
to something more up to date. However, I've not had luck running the
restore CD and was hoping that somebody might offer some help.

Some background:

Configuration:

Qube 2700WG with a 30MB hard drive and 64MB RAM.
No serial console adapter (I'm pretty blind)

I have noted that the qube seems to receive some data from my CD-server
and then it sits there quietly, no net activity and no changes in the
"net booting" LCD readout. If I leave the qube alone, the LCD screen
eventually blanks and the Ethernet link led will start cycling on-off.

I brought this machine up from a scratch using the same CD server PC and
a cobalt linux restore CD so I'm confident my setup is ok.

The open questions are:

1) Is there an issue with my hard drive? ( heard mention of UDMA
mismatches)

2) is this CD meant to work with a Qube 2700 (1)?

3) Does the CD NetBSD work with my server- pc (seems to look ok, all the
daemons are up and so is the interface, not to mention the fact that the
Qube is getting something and is then stalling/crashing).

Greatly appreciate any ideas.

Mike
