Well, hurm.  Apparently I spoke too soon; even after increasing the
swap space to 120 megs (on a 48 meg RAM system), it's happened again,
this time during a compile.

Before the panic, I happened to notice a lot of
	nfs_timer: ignoring error 48
messages going by.
