I did. The good news is, I now have an extra fast filesystem.
The bad news is, I lost a gemdos fs while testing the driver.
Well, what the heck, I wanted to get rid of those obsolete
junk filesystems anyway.

With a few patches the msdos fs driver can now handle gemdos
fss too. I would strongly advise though not to write new files
to the root directory of a gemdos fs. It might damage the first
FAT (not a disaster, the second FAT will be OK).
