I've found that some of the Sharks shipped with rather *cough* cheapo RAM --
try some other DIMMs that qualify as usable from the Shark specifications,
and see if that clears it up.  One of my two Sharks had a 16MB DIMM that was
spuriously flatlining bits 7 and 8, but it was the second DIMM, and was
mostly untouched until I loaded something large like X....
