Hi there,

I've just fitted an Adaptec 2940 SCSI card to my CATS machine so
that it can backup to a tape streamer, single Tape device on SCSI
BUS (correctly identified when switched on).

The CATS machine is very recent, came with build 1.3f of the
kernal.

When booting the server, it fails when examining the IDE
controller, the machine hangs with a flashing cursor after the
following boot information:

footbridge0 at mainbus0: DC21285 rev 3
pci0 at footbridge0 bus 0
pci0: i/o enabled, memory enabled
pcib0 at pci0 dev 7 function 0
pcib0: Acer Labs M1543 PCI-ISA Bridge (rev. 0xc3)
ahc0 at pci0 dev 8 function 0
ahc0: interrupting at irq 18
ahc0: aic7860 Single Channel, SCSI Id=7, 3 SCBs
scsibus0 at ahc0 channel 0: 8 targets
de0 at pci0 dev 9 function 0
de0: interrupting at irq 8
de0: 21140A [10-100Mb/s] pass 2.2
de0: address 00:40:05:a2:11:a6
bypass0 at pci0 dev 10 function 0: S3 product 0x8a01 (VGA
display, revision 0x01)
pciide0 at pci0 dev 16 function 0: Acer Labs M5229 UDMA IDE
Controller (rev. 0xc1)
pciide0: primary channel configured to compatibility mode

I have now also plugged the card into two other CATS machines
that I have here, they also suffer from the same problem, which
where supplied at the same time as the above machine.

Any ideas anyone?

TIA

Regards Neil...
