In case it's not Really Obvious:

When the Shark is switched to use wscons, it Really Should use flat
frame buffer mode, and all of the garbage around setting text-mode3
and resetting the video mode should be exploded.

I promised various people that one day I would make sure that all that
lossage went away, so if you do it the wrong way i'll have to hunt you
down...  8-)
