Well, ... I got the 19980804.UVM snapshot kernels and replaced my old
netboot kernel with the new one.  It still said:

wdc0 at ofisa0 (ide@i1f0): error getting interrupt data

but then couldn't complete the netboot.  It asked for the root device
instead of mounting the correct place as did the older kernel.

By the way, I get that wdc0 error even when the disk is not connected.
