If you want something actually manufactured in N.America I think your
only option is the Netwinder. It is really an overgrown set-top box, but
it does give you a pretty good SA-110 based 'toaster' configuration for
$700-$1300. However its idea of expansion is a PC-style parallel port.

Apparently ChalTech policy is to only contact you if there is something
you can fix -- it seems that the latest batch of CATS boards was held up
until about now for various reasons. I just got off the phone with
SimTec
(one of ChalTech's parent companies, they do the actual shipping) and if
the certified SDRAM DIMM's arrive in a day or so as they are expected
to,
then the boards will be shipped later this week. (I think I am repeating
this correctly; someone associated with ChalTech please correct me if
not.)

This is great news for me, as I faxed an order to them only last week,
and
thought I would be waiting longer. I've already had a few people at work
ask me when they might be able to play with it.
