Bought RiscBSD 1.3Alpha at Acorn World 97. Following CD installation
file to the T, can't get it to work. this is the course of events
which took place and my hardware config. Can anyone offer any advice
as to why it's going wrong?

Machine Spec :
Risc PC600, SA233MHz, 24Mb RAM, 3.1Gb Quantum Fireball/RapIDE32 (issue
2) Hard disk/IDE Interface card, Risc OS 3.7.

What I did:

I used Rapier to create a new unformatted partition starting at
cylinder 3128. After booting Risc BSD from CD ROM, I entered the
appropriate details:

3129 Risc BSD partition boundry
16 heads
512 bytes/sec
63 sectors
disk name : wd0
kind of disk: I maded it "QUANTUM"
Root partition : 16Mb or 32cyl
Swap partition : 52Mb or 104cyl
mount point : /usr
Size of NetBSD partition: 3128cyl

I have a Risc OS partition on my 3.1Gb IDE disk and the Risc OS
partition is exactly half the capacity of the disk. It was intended
that the other half be used for Risc BSD so I would like to devote all
remaining disk space to Risc BSD. Based on that I had worked out the
above figures.

Once I get to the Step which says "this is the point of no return"
where BSD should write the label and NewFS, I get about 4-500 error
messages all wizzing past at light speed so i can't read them. Some of
them I can discern briefly which something like cannot mount /usr or
cannot mount wd0. And then there are many hundred of Not Enough iNode
errors or Cannot allocate iNodes errors. It then all stop and dumps me
to the Unix prompt and all is well. But the BSD partition is not
recognised and so I cannot proceed with installed the sets.

What am I doing wrong?
