You can find the messages in /var/messages or somewhere, at least those
about the core dump (not the linker messages).

Nope. Same problem, except linking works fine, apps just coredump 
with a nosys. 
I even tried with the old libraries (after changing the offending symbols
manually) and it didn't make a difference.

Neil has said his C++ works etc. ... what about it Neil ?
