Before I start the bug report ... thanks to Mark &co. for bringing out the
etherM driver, it has arrived just in time to be used before I graduate. 8-)

We compared notes, because I had the same error at a different address,

 em0 at podulebus0 [ netslot 0 ]: failed bit pattern 0x2704 in NIC buffer at
 offset 6704 - check configuration

and noted the fact that the first time I booted voy-5328 it had worked. It
seems that (one half of) the card isn't being initialised...

I use em0 for RISC OS and reserve em1 for the PC card [the etherM card is a
dual device]. I assume Duncan uses em1 for RISC OS, or has a different RISC
OS configuration.

One solution to the problem is to run Network Links (part of !PC), but
presumably ifconfig'ing both em0 and em1 in RISC OS will work too.

  EtherM     Multiple

I suspect that "*co. etherm single" will also solve the problem, but I can't
check Duncan's configuration ATM.

I shall have a play with it, but hopefully in the mean time this will help
someone else get it working.
