apologise for being unable to answer people's e-mail queries at the
moment, due to a very slow internet link.

In response to a number of recent queries...

Members of the RiscBSD kernel team would like to apologise for
the recent lack of visible public developments of the product.
The reason for this apparent absence of progress has been due
to the recent involvement of kernel team members within Causality
Limited (see URL http://www.causality.com) with other commercial
projects.

We are sure that people will have noticed the very recent
announcement of Digital's new high performance network computer
reference design (see URL http://www.digital.com/flash/flash-130.html).
This runs a version of NetBSD (which is the basis of RiscBSD) as
its freely available reference OS.

We have been involved closely with the Digital operating system
developments, and as such have been unable to devote as much
free time to the free RiscBSD distribution as we would like.
However, these commercial developments have allowed us to
add a number of major enhancements to the operating system,
which may be made available to the public at a later date.
In addition, we have been doing some development on RiscBSD
(including device driver enhancements, addition of new drivers
(and replacement of existing ones!) and many bug fixes).

Causality and RiscBSD will have a stand, shared with Simtec
Electronics, at the Wakefield Acorn Spring Show (see URL
http://www.cybervillage.co.uk/acorn/wakefield) at which
we will be exhibiting to the public a new release of RiscBSD
together with a number of our commercial developments.
