Hi,
Ok Bad news folks. I do not expect to have publically available 1.2-release
CDROMS available at Acorn World.

Currently I have a major stree overload from work that means I have had little
time in the last two weeks to prepare for the show.

Also in the last few days various questions have been raised about the testing
proceedure and also there have been a number of 1.2-release bug reports.
These bugs need to be fixed before I would be happy with a CDROM release.

So on current time scales :

Its 4am now. My bus leaves for home in 30mins. I'll get home by about 5.30am
I can then start bug fixing the 1.2-release. Following that I need to run a
test installation of the 1.2-release and check it out.
Once I am happy I then produce a CDROM image on an HD. (Need to figure the time
to install 500MB on an HD) I then need to install the RiscOS bootloader and
generate all the CDFS file extensions. Then I need to test boot and install the
CDROM image.
At this point it is now no later than 8.30 in the morning and time to dash for
the station so I can be in the office for a 10am meeting.
The next 14 hours are then busy with work.

thus about midnight tomorrow night I will have some spare time to generate the
ISO image. This has to be done from NetBSD/arm32 with a special version of
mkisofs. The 500MB iso image then need to go across the net to the writer.
I figure I could have this done my say 5am if everything works first time.
Now I can start writing CDROM's a double speed.
So I could squeeze say 4hours in here to write 8 CDROM before my sees I am in
and I have to start real work.
2 hours later I leave for home to pack up my gear and go and set up for the
show.

So assuming no sleep between now and the show and that I can bug fix and text
and build the CDROM image in 3 hours (estimate I really need a couple of days)
I could have 8 CDROM's for Friday.

i.e. Not realistic.

Note: Forgot to factor in writing the glossy handout and going and getting that
printed. Plus I have no fancy software compiled up for demoing yet.

Anyone wanting CDROM's should take to me at Acorn World.

What could be feasible is a CDROM snapshot of the FTP site as it is this
morning along with a set of NetBSD-current tars and netBSD-1.2 tars + various
source packages.

Would anybody be interested in this as I can do this far more easily than a
RiscBSD CDROM release and could have this ready for the show.

If you are, email me ASAP so I know how many I have to write.

Cheers,
				Mark
