Well, I am not the person you refer to, but I use a tiny little
commandline to get the stuff from Stuttgart:

mirror.pl -gftp.uni-stuttgart.de:/pub/systems/acorn/riscbsd/1.2-beta/

(of course I do this as a nohup-job)
