I have just downgraded from my Acorn SCSI card to a Power-tec
SCSI-2 one (v. 1.01 card). :-)
The Power-tec performs at about 110 KB/s while my Acorn card
was at 170 KB/s. These timings were done by copying the kernel
to /dev/null.
On the RISC OS side of things it is a major upgrade. With my
HP drive I now have at least 3 MB/s.
But, on the positive side, it works fine.
So, now you have one more which wants a better driver for
the Power-tec.
