yeh I just realized I was mixing a 1.6.2 kernel (forgot to stop the boot  
and say "boot diskless" to get the 2.0 kernel) and a 2.0 userland... Leads  
me to believe I missed something while untarring the 1.6.2 base, since  
there was no trouble mounting the 2.0 userland, or 1.6.2 is just broken ;)

2.0 kernel still won't boot,

NetBSD/netwinder booting ...
initarm: Configuring system ...
physmemory: 16384 pages at 0x00000000 -> 0x03ffffff
consinit("igsfb")
