No.  Part of my concern is the absolute mess that acorn32 is.

In general, I would not bother trying to merge majors.* files at all, 
per-arch or globally.  The right way to spend the effort is to 
eliminate having to use MAKEDEV at all (i.e. implement a decent devfs).
