Yep, first I need to figure out what the scheduler lock protocol is, I figure
that looking at i386 and alpha should help, that and I'll mail Jason as he
posted the PR :)

Not so much a consideration, more related to locking, IE we might not have
the locks etc in place, but I'd rather be able to come along later and add
them if the need arises, eg hydra board

Reading around it seems to relate to us not going over 4MB limit of
something, although I can't see a reason why there is a limit, the 16k of L1
table can be anywhere in memory as can the L2 tables.

Most definetly yes.

I'm planning to rework anything that needs it, I won't claim to get it right
first time and if I don't I'll hopefully understand why it's not right, and
be able to figure out the right way to do things.

Probably worth resending me them. I've got them somewhere, but you might
have changed them since.
Oh anyone know of any decent benchmarks for testing pmap?
