My machine (olivetti M700-10 a magnum 4000PC clone) has been acting 
strange for the past few days.  I'm booting nfsroot and have reverted to 
a kernel that was known to work.  When I boot now, it boots really 
really slow.  About 30 minutes to single user prompt.  I have tracked it 
down to really slow ethernet.  In fact every outgoing packet fails the 
first time and needs to be resent.  The following actually shows the 
problem.  The first packet has broken hardware addresses for the sender 
and receiver.  I'm actually surprised that tcpdump -ex host 
192.168.0.202 actually picked up the packet.
So, my question is does anyone know what's going on?  This used to work 
fine.  I recently had a power failure, and this machine might have been 
on at that time, but I'm not sure.  More importantly, how would I fix 
this?  Do you think it's a hardware failure, or an initialization 
problem?  Has anyone seen anything like this?
