Did you do the upgrade manually, or using install-script?

Did you run etcupdate(8) to update your /etc files and postinstall(8) to
remove obsolete files?

You find my readline.h attached. It should be the same.

I will also send you my config.log for mysql5-client in a private mail, so
you can compare it with yours and try to find the differences.
