  No. Maybethe drive was incorrectly configured before.

  Checkout the disklabel with disklabel(1). The NetBSD partitions are
  listed with a type 4.2 sore something like that.

  root is always the "a" partition and swap always "b". In your case the
  device is wd0, thus its wd0a and wd0b.
