 OpenSSH definitely not. Just checked OpenSSL 0.9.6 (I don't have the
 older ones around), and there is no m68k asm at all. Haven't checked
 pkgsrc whether there are some weird patches ;-)

 Well, with openssl 0.9.5a, I have no more problems on the 040.
