NetBSD 1.4.2 and CSPPC

While installing NetBSD 1.4.2 on a JAZ disk (3 partitions - /root,
swap and /usr), the system locks after writing the first files of
base.tgz to the disk.

The docs say that I should stop all PPC activity, which I did my
shutting down every program using the PPC (ScanTrax and rc5desppc).
Is this enough?

If the PPC is not the problem, what else can it be?
