I've been running NetBSD on a GForce-40 for a number of years now. It's
now running a -current [1.4P] kernel from December 1999. The biggest
problem I've had with it is that it will sometimes just lock up and I have
to reset it. It's also just using the Amiga CC display. Also, it has
16MB of memory.

You could try without the Picasso and the external HD floppy, but I don't
think they should make any difference.
